Message From The President For 2008-2009
I graciously accept one more year of service as your Chapter President. The Board of Directors is preparing for a full weekend of training in Memphis TN. We will attend the Chapter Regional Conference (CRC). There we hope to gain information to assist us in providing the Chapter with ongoing quality programs and services to make your involvement with ASHRAE a valuable experience. This group of individuals has proven their commitment to serving the HVACR community and enhancing building performance throughout NWFL. If you are interested in joining this team to support the Northwest Florida Chapter, please contact one of the directors below and get more involved.

ASHRAE installed several directors to serve a three-year term from 2008-2011: Region VII Director and Regional Chair: Pat Kempf, retired from Gulf Power Co. (a Southern Co. subsidiary), Pensacola, Fla. has been involved with our Chapter for many years. She has held many positions of responsibility including President 1994 – 1995. She now has the responsibility for our entire Region which covers chapters in 6 states. I’m sure Pat will keep us informed of all the Regional activities. Please join me in congratulating and supporting her in this very important role within ASHRAE.
I see our mission to support that of ASHRAE Society Headquarters along with meeting the needs of local businesses.

William A. Harrison, 2008-09 ASHRAE President delivered his address in Salt Lake City and encourages all of us to take action when we see opportunities.
“We know the answers. If the studies are accurate, we have a no-regrets method to reduce the HVAC energy use in buildings by 10 to 40 percent, solely by improving building operations. All we have to do is communicate and educate more effectively. It is our duty. We are pledged to deliver ASHRAE’s promise of sustainability, and to do that we must maintain to sustain, we must train to sustain, and we must influence the operation of our buildings to conserve energy. I ask for your help and your commitment, and I am confident that working together, we can deliver on ASHRAE’s promise of sustainability.”
With this goal in mind we will attempt to bring you quality programs that will provide you with the knowledge to improve our community and the world.
